Two chapels, playschool attacked
AHMEDABAD: In fresh outbreak of violence, two chapels and a kindergarten run by missionaries were damaged in Surat district of Gujarat even as a two-member Central team assessed the situation in southern parts of the state hit by communal strife today.
New ED chief
NEW DELHI: Government today appointed Indrajit Khanna as the new chief of Enforcement Directorate ED in place of M K Bezbaruah, who was reinstated as ED chief following intervention of the Supreme Court early this year, official sources said. Khanna, additional secretary in the Economic Affairs, will succeed Bezbaruah under a Supreme Court directive that requires officials of the rank of additional secretaries to head investigative agencies like ED and CBI.
