Bhujbal gets Home MinistryMUMBAI: Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today expanded his council of ministers inducting 26 ministers and also allotted the Home portfolio to his deputy Chhagan Bhujbal. The other 26 ministers are expected to get their portfolios in a day or two, Deshmukh said and added that there would another expansion.

Cyclone toll 67

BHUBANESWAR: The death toll in Sunday8217;s cyclonic storm mounted to 67 with the worst-hit Ganjam district accounting for 56 deaths in Orissa. Over 1,000 people were injured in Ganjam district as the 200 kmph cyclone crashed into the State8217;s southern coast twice flattening houses and uprooting trees and other installations.

PMO on divestment

NEW DELHI: The PMO is proposing that it be given full and complete charge of all disinvestment, as the current method of having the administrative ministries in charge of selling off their own PSUs is slowing down matters considerably. Pak match-fixing

SHARJAH: Pakistan8217;s cricket team was on Tuesday rocked by a media report that six players, including Captain Wasim Akram, were found guilty of wrongdoing by the judicial commission on betting and match-fixing. Judge Malik Mohammad Qayyum had recommended that Salim Malik and Mushtaq Ahmed be banned and fines imposed on Akram, Ijaz Ahmed, Inzamam-ul Haq and Saeed Anwar.
