
22 killed in Pak violence
ISLAMABAD: In one of the worst incidents of sectarian attacks, unidentified gunmen opened fire on Sunday morning at a religious congregation in Lahore killing 22 people, including a woman and two children, and injuring 60. The provincial government of Punjab has announced a judicial inquiry into the incident while the police have launched a manhunt for the killers.

GUWAHATI: Assam Inspector General of Police Shankar Barua had a narrow escape tonight when suspected ULFA militants made an attempt on his life by firing from automatic guns. While Barua and his wife escaped unhurt, his two security guards were injured.
