KemEM Hospital in Pune has denied reports that President-elect Pratibha Patil had visited the hospital to see her two-day-old grandnephew, who is suffering from bilateral pneumonia.

It may have been the ‘star’ baby in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of KEM Hospital, thanks to its distant relationship with none other than Pratibha Patil. But after ensuring the smooth recovery of the two-day-old infant, what has upset doctors at the hospital is a news agency report that Patil visited the NICU.

According to the report, the President-elect had spent half-an-hour with the baby and had requested the authorities to keep her nocturnal visit under wraps. Dr Kurus Coyaji, Medical Director of KEM Hospital, is certainly ‘clueless’ about the ‘mysterious’ visit of Patil to the hospital. “I simply don’t know anything about the visit,” Coyaji told The Indian Express.
