The lady, who owns a small general store in Dhonje village at the foothills of Sinhagad, also has a telephone connection that people on the road can make use of at the nominal rate. But what she offers along side this, free of cost, is the invaluable service of providing a list of important phone numbers neatly hand-written and pasted on a wall of the shop. Other than emergency and utility services, the list also displays the telephone numbers of many important hospitals in Pune.
For desperate cases, the lady even offers the use of her jeep, parked near the shop, free of charge. Given the increasing incidence of accidents here, the effort is indeed commendable.
