IT officers to go on strike
All officers and officials of the Income-Tax Department belonging to Gr.B, C and will go on an indefinite strike from July 21 onwards to press their demands including revision of pay scales for officers and inspectors of the Department, according to a press note issued by Pune unit of Income-Tax Department Gazetted Services Federation here today.
The strike call has been given by the Coordination Committee of the Federation in the Department of Revenue.The revision of pay scales of various other cadres like stenographers, tax assistant are also covered in the agitation, the note said.
New train schedules from August 15
The frequency of 6339 Dn Kurla-Nagarcoil Express, 1025 Dn Pune-Howrah Azad Hind Express and 1031 Dn Pune-Varanai Express will be increased with effect from August 15, 1998.
According to a release issued by the Central Railway, the Kurla-Nagarcoil Express which plies on Monday, Wednesday and Friday will be plying on Thursday too. The 1029 Dn Pune-Howrah, earlier a weekly train on Friday, will ply on Sunday also, whereas 1031 Dn Pune-Varanai Express, a weekly train on Tuesday, will also ply on Thursday. Passengers have been requested to avail of the facility.
From August 15, timings of the 1017 Dn Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus-Bangalore Express will be changed and the train will start at 10.40 p.m., arrive in Pune at 3.10 a.m. and reach Bangalore at 11.20 p.m. Earlier it reached Bangalore at 4 a.m.
