
CHANDIGARH, July 15: Punjab University has announced that the interviews for centralised admission in the nine social science departments will begin on July 22. According to convener of the centralised admission committee, Prof B. S. Brar, interviews for the first 1,000 students will commence on July 22 for admission in the departments of Ancient Indian History, Economics, Geography, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Public Administration, Psychology and Sociology.
The final merit list of candidates recommended for admission will be displayed on July 26. Admissions will take place on July 27 and 28, where the candidates placed on merit lists will be admitted provisionally. The counselling of candidates who have applied for seeking admission to B.E. Chemical first year against the category of foreign, NRI, and NRI sponsored seats will be held on July 31 at 10.00 am in the office of the Chairman, Department of Chemical Engineering and Technology, PU.
The department of evening studies, PU has also announced its schedule of admission. According to chairperson of the department, Dr Romesh Pandey, admissions to B.Com I, B.A. I, will be held on July 23. The fee of B.Com I students will be accepted on the spot.
According to a press statement issued by Chairman of the Department of Mass Communication, Sanjay Wadwalkar, students who have applied for admission in the Department of Mass Communications first year have been asked to collect their interview letters from the department between July 17-22 on all working days.
The department of Mathematics has informed that the interview for admission to M.Sc Mathematics first year will be held on July 27 at 9.30 am. The entrance test for admission to M.A.I English will be held at 9.00 am on July 20. Interview and admission for M.A.II in the department will be held on July 29. The written test for M.Phil English will be held on August 10, according to the chairperson of the department.
The aptitude test for admission to M.A.I Indian Theatre will be held on July 24 at 9.00 am in the department. All applicants have been asked to contact the office personally along with their original certificates.
