
MOGA, MAY 27: An inquiry has been initiated against Paramjit Singh, a head constable at Baghapurana, on alleged charges of misbehaving with Shiv Sena district chief Jatinder Sharma on May 12 in a bus while he was on his way from Kotkapura to Moga.
Sharma had complained in writing to the DIG Ferozepur range. According to Sharma, the head constable not only misbehaved with him but also threatened him of dire consequences. Ultimately, Sharma said, he was made to get off the bus.
The DIG immediately directed Superintendent Police Detective Surjit Singh to probe the matter and give the report within one week. Accordingly, the SP D recorded the statement of complainant Jatinder Sharma and one more person in this connection yesterday.
DIG MEETS OFFICIALS: DIG Ferozepur Range L.K. Likhi yesterday, while addressing the meeting of the district officials of Moga district including SSP, SP Headquarters, SP Detective and all the DSPs, directed them to bring improvement in the behavior of the police force and to make its working more transparent and accountable to improve its image.
The DIG also directed all the officials to take immediate steps to curtail the use to drugs and narcotics by youths.
