Warriors recorded their second-straight upset when they beat heavyweights Victoria Bushrangers by 28 runs in the Champions League T20 tournament.
After restricting Warriors for a modest 158 for 6,the fancied Victoria batting order fumbled against the pace of Juan Theron and Makhaya Ntini, who picked up five wickets between them. Victoria finished at 130 with a wicket to spare.
Skipper David Hussey,Aaron Finch and Brad Hodge got off to respectable starts but failed to convert them to bigger scores.
Earlier,Warriors skipper David Jacobs smashed a classy half-century at the top of the order to guide his side to a competitive total.
The South African side, though, failed to take advantage of Jacobs 39-ball 59 when a middle-order collapse brought back parity between the bat and the ball. Wicketkeeper Mark Boucher 31 and Johan Botha 20 made useful contributions down the order.
Rollicking start
Electing to bat,Warriors were off to a rollicking start as openers David Jacobs and Ashwell Prince picked up fours at will to race away to 54 in first five overs.
Jacobs started the proceedings, clubbing three fours off Dirk Nannes in the first over, before clobbering another boundary in the second ball off Shane Harwood.
For Victoria,Andrew McDonald was the peak of the bowlers, scalping two wickets, while Dirk Nannes,Clint McKay and Shane Harwood took one each.
