Taj Television Ltd (TTL),broadcaster of channels like Ten Sports and Ten Cricket,on Friday said it has acquired the television rights for Cricket South Africa (CSA) for a period of 8 years.
The financial details were,however,not disclosed.
“The agreements with TTL cover the South African Cricket Seasons over an eight-year period from 2012-13 through to 2019-20,” TTL said in a statement.
The exclusive media rights partnership with TTL covers Asia and the Middle East,it added.
“We’re extremely pleased to have won the Commercial Rights of Cricket South Africa. This is a testament to our commitment to the game of cricket and fans as we cement our relationship with Cricket South Africa,” TTL India Chief Executive Officer Atul Pande said.
With acquisition of these cricket rights,TTL has broadcast rights of five cricket boards — South Africa,Pakistan,West Indies,Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
“Through our television channels - TEN Cricket and TEN Sports,our website http://www.tencricket.com and our various wireless platform initiatives,we are confident of taking the rights of Cricket South Africa to new heights by working along with the various partners and are committed to set new benchmarks in broadcasting and distribution,” Pande said.
