Somdev Devvarman asserted that the shoulder injury which kept him away from competitive tennis for eight months,will not have any impact on how he plays his game when he competes at the London Olympics.

Look I have been preparing and playing for last 15 years and by now I am feeling superb and mentally prepared of good showing, Somdev said during an interaction at the Games Village. Asked how his shoulder has responded after coming back from injury,he said,This is the first time in my career that I had such an injury. My shoulder used to hurt but I overlooked it and then it became quiet bad. So I had surgery in November and now I am fully fit.

He said he had some highs and few lows in his career. But I suppose this happens with every player. Tennis has become a very demanding sport and it impacts you body. But you have to live with it.

Meanwhile,Mahesh Bhupathi said he never thought of playing five consecutive Olympics.

Well to be honest,when I started my career it never figured to me that I will figure in the Olympics for the fifth time (in a row). This is a very special moment for me to be part of this global multi disciplinary sporting panorama, Bhupathi said.

I have been blessed with an extraordinary successful long career. Hopefully my fifth Olympics will be another milestone, he added. Asked about the chances in the Olympics,he said he was aware of stiff competition awaiting him and his partner Rohan Bopanna.

We have as good a chance as anybody else. There are going to be 20 to 25 great teams in the competition, Bhupathi said.

But let me tell you it is going to be the toughest contest,much tougher and better than Grand Slams because best and the brightest among the tennis players are taking part here.
