Siddle out,Lee and Hussey make the cut

Speedster Brett Lee managed a spot after his brilliant comeback against England.

Inexperienced all-rounder John Hastings was the surprise inclusion while paceman Peter Siddle failed to find a place in Australias 15-member World Cup squad named on Tuesday. Speedster Brett Lee managed a spot after his brilliant comeback against England. Captain Ricky Ponting and Michael Hussey have also made the final cut despite suffering from injuries. Ponting is recovering from a finger fracture,while Hussey suffered a serious hamstring injury on Sunday.

Yousuf left out

Pakistan selectors omitted senior batsman Muhammad Yousuf from the final 15-member World Cup squad,without without naming the captain for the event. Former captain Yousuf is a veteran of 90 Tests and 288 one-day internationals but the selectors decided to keep faith with youngster Asad Shafiq. The entire team currently touring New Zealand has been in the squad. The decision to not name the captain,though,has left the spot open between Shahid Afridi and Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq.
