Churchill Brotherss form from their maiden IFA Shield title a couple of days ago went missing on Tuesday against Sporting Clube de Goa in the Durand Cup. But the defending I-League champions always had Odafe Okolie waiting in the opponent box. Odafe rescued Churchill, netting the winner in the 82nd minute. Ironically,it was the overmarked Nigerians failure to make a move inside the Sporting box that led Churchill coach Carlos Pereira to push Ogba Kalu Nnana up in the second half. Odafe made way for himself in the 82nd minute through the centre, leaving Kalu and Reisangmi Vashum behind. Chesting Gouramangi Singhs long ball,he dodged goalkeeper Gerrard DMello to the left before placing it with his left foot.

East Bengal and Mohun Bagan play on Wednesday.
