Mahendra Singh Dhoni may be the toast of the nation for his exploits with the bat,but Syed Kirmani feels the India captain is not quite up to the mark when it comes to his core job of wicket-keeping.
Dhoni is improving with every match, but he is not technically sound behind the wicket. He doesnt have the basics or even the instincts to be a wicket-keeper, said the former India glovesman. India playing too much cricket was also bound to take its toll,he said. A player doesnt remain the same after 4-5 years. His agility and reflexes diminish with age,the body wears out. Dhoni is playing all three forms of the game throughout the year, you have to understand this.
He also said that while dropped chances dont matter when the team is winning, they will be highlighted if they start losing.
