Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has said that his club would not underestimate defending champions Chelsea as the Premier League title race begins to take shape.

United currently leads the Premier League points table with 54 points from 24 games, while Chelsea is fourth with 44 points from 24 games.

We certainly havent written Chelsea off. They are a big strong side and we know if anyone is capable of going on a good run then it is them, the Daily Express quoted Rooney,as saying.

But we know it is up to us where the title goes and hopefully we can win it back, he added.

The 25-year-old further said that he has been happy with his performance in the season so far.

As a striker you want to score goals, but I have been happy with my performances, apart from the Blackpool match last week when I just couldnt get back into the game, Rooney said.

I am delighted to have scored and hopefully I can go on a run now and help the team to win games, he added.
