“The Al Falah School of Engineering and Technology’s ‘Grade A’ accreditation was valid from 2013 to 2018, while the Al-Falah School of Education and Training’s accreditation was valid from 2011 to 2016,” the notice stated.
Al Falah University in Faridabad has responded to the show cause notice it had received from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) last week, explaining that the outdated accreditation on the it’s website had been overlooked, and that it has been taken down.
A senior NAAC official said that they received the university’s response earlier this week. In its response, the university pointed out that the outdated accreditation on its website was not done unintentionally and that it was overlooked. The official added that it was taken down immediately.
In a show cause notice issued on November 12, NAAC had stated that the institution had publicly displayed expired accreditation on their website. It asked the university to respond within seven days, and remove the accreditation details from the website.
The official said that the NAAC accreditation-displayed by the university on its website– had expired a long while ago.
“The Al Falah School of Engineering and Technology’s ‘Grade A’ accreditation was valid from 2013 to 2018, while the Al-Falah School of Education and Training’s accreditation was valid from 2011 to 2016,” the notice stated.
The show cause notice asked why legal action should not be initiated against the university and questioned why the university should not be disqualified for future consideration for assessment and accreditation. The show cause also sought response from Al Falh university on why NAAC should not recommend to the University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), National Medical Commission (NMC) and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) that the institution’s recognition to offer programmes be withdrawn.
Another official said that NAAC’s issue was with the accreditation being displayed on the website, and that has been removed. The official added that NAAC had communicated this matter to the University Grants Commission (UGC), and that NAAC does not have any regulatory authority.
