Indian-origin surgeon honoured with MBE in UK

I was absolutely delighted and humbled when I heard the news, said Dr Pathak,an associate specialist for the Hull and East Yorkshire National Health Service Trust.

But I feel this honour is also for all the people who have helped me over the years, Dr Pathak was quoted as saying by the Hull News.

Dr Pathak helps run his familys Jagjiwan Tuberculosis Hospital in Bihar,which he visits twice a year with teams of health professionals to train local health workers in basic surgical techniques.

He is also a founder,with Lord Parekh,of the Hull Hindu Cultural Association,working to raise awareness of Indian and Hindu culture in East Yorkshire.
