Help pours in from Oman for ailing Indian student

Class 12 student Jimesh Soni,who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for brain tumour in India.

Readers of a local newspaper in Oman have collected over USD 11,000 to help pay for the cancer treatment of an Indian school student.

The Times of Oman Readers8217; Club handed over USD 11,388 for Muscat-based class 12 student Jimesh Soni,who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for brain tumour in India.

The sum was handed over to his mother Chetna Narendra Soni to help meet the medical expenses. 8220;We will always be grateful to the Times of Oman Readers8217;

Club for helping us. We don8217;t have words to express our gratitude,8221; she was quoted as saying by the Times of Oman.

Jimesh was diagnosed with the disease two years ago and his family is struggling to meet the medical expenses,the report added. He is currently undergoing treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai.

While Jimesh and his father have returned to India for treatment,his mother has stayed back in Oman to support the family and pay for the treatment.
