England beat South Africa by four wickets in their third one-day international at the Oval on Friday,leveling the series at 1-1 and reclaiming the No. 1 ranking it lost to the Proteas earlier in the week.

Earlier,England8217;s James Anderson took 4-44,while paceman Jade Dernbach vindicated his selection ahead of Tim Bresnan with 3-44 as the Proteas8217; middle order squandered a promising start.

Hashim Amla was South Africa8217;s top scorer with 43.
