No UDRS for India-SA Tests
Mumbai: Following opposition from captain M S Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar, the Umpires Decision Review System (UDRS) would not be used during Indias upcoming Test tour of South Africa. We are not going to use it and thats the end of it, SA coach Corrie van Zyl said. …Im not disappointed,I almost knew it was not going to happen in any case, and it will still be a very good series without it.
Drop Johnson: Chappell
Brisbane: Australia paceman Mitchell Johnson has lost his confidence and must be dropped for the second Ashes Test, former captain Ian Chappell said on Tuesday. You could see his confidence ebbing away to the point where there were some wides and horrible deliveries, and he just looked like a guy bowling without confidence, Chappell said.
Aus fatigue a factor: Flower
Adelaide: England want to capitalise on the lingering fatigue of Australia’s bowlers in this week’s second Adelaide Ashes Test, coach Andy Flower said on Tuesday. There are only three days of recovery time between the drawn Gabba Test with the second game starting on Friday. “Ideally you want to move on as quickly as possible. Obviously there is fatigue for some of the bowlers after long spells. Confidence,or lack thereof,is passed from one match to the next. So yes, there is definitely a connection there.”
Tendulkar is todays Bradman
Dubai: Brian Lara has described Sachin Tendulkar as the Don Bradman of modern era but refused to compare the two. He is our periods Don Bradman. Forget the difference in averages but whoever I have spoken to who have seen old players in action, believe he (Bradman) would not have averaged 99 in todays cricket, Lara said.
