GCA promises refund on washout

Margao: The Goa Cricket Association (GCA) on Saturday promised to refund ticket-holders if the third and final one-dayer between India and Australia is washed out. “In case it rains and the match gets washed out without a ball being bowled,we will refund the money to the ticket holders. The match is insured for Rs one core,” said Goa Cricket Association’s president Dayanand Narvekar at a press conference.

CSA’s u-turn slammed

Johannesburg: A decision by Cricket South Africa (CSA) to discontinue an external investigation into huge bonuses paid to its chief executive and 40 other staff members in the wake of the IPL II played in South Africa,has been slammed by politicians. A Commission of Enquiry led by former Chief Justice Pius Langa was appointed in August to investigate the payment of R4.7 million to CSA chief executive Gerald Majola and others.But now the cricket authority has decided that there would be instead an internal investigation led by A K Khan,Deputy President of the CSA.

Manhas to lead Delhi

New Delhi: The senior selection committee on Saturday picked the Delhi team for the first two Ranji Trophy matches against Bengal and Tamil Nadu. Virender Sehwag,Gautam Gambhir,Ishant Sharma and Ashish Nehra are not originally named in the 15-member team but will be part of the team whenever they are available.
