The BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel met Cricket South Africa CEO Haroon Lorgat today on the sidelines of the ICC Chief Executives Meet. Monday was the first of the two-day meet where the member nations discussed on a host of issues ranging from the use of controversial Decision Review System DRS to two new white balls in ODIs. Yes,Patel and Lorgat did speak to each other for a few minutes but it is difficult to comment about what transpired during those few minutes. They were certainly cordial with each other, a source said. Its an internal matter between the two boards and unless they are interested to divulge any information,it is difficult to make a comment on the issue, the source added. BCCI and CSA have been at loggerheads over the fixture of Indias tour of South Africa. The CSA had initially planned a tour that comprised of three Tests,seven ODIs and two T20 Internationals apart from two three-day warm-up games spanning over two months. BCCI then has gone on to threaten a curtailed series that would have two Tests and three ODIs apart from a T20 international.

World Cship bat fetches highest price at auction

A bat signed by players of all teams that took part in the 1985 World Championship of Cricket in Australia and belonging to the collection of former off spin great Erapalli Prasanna,fetched the highest price in an auction recently. The highest successful bid for this bat at the Osians auction of sporting memorabilia on September 13,was Rs 4.5 lakh. Legendary cricketer Ranjitsinhjis autographed first

edition Jubilee Book of Cricket achieved the highest price for a book at Rs 1.08 lakh. A photograph of Indias first Test XI that played at Lords in June 1932 and autographed by the countrys first Test captain C K Nayudu fetched Rs 90,000. Some of the other items auctioned were Anshuman Gaekwads autographed bat with which he scored his unbeaten 201 against Pakistan at Jalandhar in September 1983 and an autographed willow of former India skipper G S Ramchand.

Twitter rumours: Warne,Hurley to split?

British model-actress Elizabeth Hurley and Australian cricketer Shane Warne have fuelled split rumours as the two have not interacted with each other on Twitter for over three weeks. The couple,who began dating in 2010,are known for their sweet exchanges on the micro-blogging site and the their apparent silence has mystified many. The cricketer celebrated his 44th birthday last Friday and thanked everyone,from family members,friends and fans on Twitter for their wishes,except Hurley. Warne also posted a cryptic tweet before his birthday. Something to think about,it is not what happens in your life,it is how you react to what life throws at you,in both the good and bad times, the 44-year-old tweeted. Hurley,previously married to Indian businessman Arun Nayar,had also posted an unusual tweet,saying,The more I know of man,the more I love my dog. Warne and Hurley have split briefly before in 2011 before reconciling. The couple got engaged the same year.
