Gaganjeet Bhullar8217;s meteoric rise has started reflecting on golfing charts with the strapping Indian pro now just three rungs away from breaking into top 200 in world rankings and leapfrogging to the seventh place in the Asian Tour Order of Merit.
After winning his maiden Asian Tour title in Jakarta last month,Bhullar came tantalisingly close to a back-to-back triumph before losing the Brunei Open playoff to Australian Darren Beck on Sunday.
The sustained good work, however, pushed him to 203 in the latest Official World Golf Rankings, ahead of US-based compatriot Arjun Atwal 310 and Delhi pro Shiv Kapur 422.
At 41,Jeev Milkha Singh, recuperating from a rib injury, remains the highest ranked Asian golfer, while European Tour regular Jyoti Randhawa is ranked 164th.
Bhullar also continued to climb the Asian Tour Order of Merit ladder, occupying the seventh place, thanks to the USD 150,366 he earned from 10 events.
Thai stalwart Thongchai Jaidee leads the Order of Merit chart with USD 749,290 against his name, while Randhawa 246,745 is placed third in the list.
