Misss World 2008 is on Dec 13. And India8217;s entry Parvathy Omanakuttan hopes to covet the crown
The countdown to Miss World 2008 has begun. With rave reviews in her kitty, India8217;s entry Parvathy Omanakuttan has raised hope of yet another crown. An absolute hit with the seasoned crew of experts back home, Kerala-born Parvathy hopes to carry on the legacy of Indian beauties, including Reita Faria 1966, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan 1994, Priyanka Chopra 2000, Diana Hayden 1997 and Yukta Mookhey 1999. 8220;I realise my responsibility towards the country. I have prepared well and am concentrating on my appearance,8221; says the nation8217;s latest beauty ambassador.
Parvathy, a student of English literature from Mithibai College, Mumbai, is banking, besides intelligence, on her picture-perfect figure which isn8217;t all the result of hours spent in the gym but of pursuing sports like basketball and badminton. A trained Indian classical dancer, 5-ft-9-inch, says, 8220;I am trying to be a stronger person to face the contest. I8217;ll try my level best to make every Indian all over the world proud.8221;
Cancerian charmer that she is, Parvathy is known for her never-say-die attitude. Had it not been so, it would not have been possible for her to win one beauty pageant after another, including the Navy Queen contest.
On life after Miss World, Parvathy too would like to follow footsteps of her predecessors. 8220;Bollywood yes, if the right kind of roles come by,8221; she says displaying a practical edge. 8220;I look forward to completing my MBA though. It8217;s very important to have a back-up plan as a career in modeling or films doesn8217;t last forever.8221;
