
Union Minister for External Affairs Pranab Mukherjee and Pakistan8217;s Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi will be in Chandigarh on Thursday to attend the International Conference on Cooperative Development, Peace and Security in South Asia.
The three-day conference will be organised at the Centre for Rural Research and Industrial Development.
There will be an inaugural address by Pranab Mukherjee, followed by the Pakistan minister8217;s speech. The first session, commencing in the afternoon, will include presentations and interactive sessions of Qureshi with the representatives of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, PHD Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Punjab Exports. Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal will host a dinner in Qureshi8217;s honour on Thursday night.
The second session on November 28 will have discussions on 8216;Trade and Investment8217;, followed by deliberations on 8216;Connectivity and Power Infrastructure8217; in the third session. The day will end after the fourth session, during which participants will discuss 8216;Democracy and SAARC8217;. The concluding session on November 29 will see a discussion on 8216;SAARC and its future.8217;
