PONTING JOINS 10,000 club

• Ricky Ponting became only the seventh batsman after Sachin Tendulkar, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Sourav Ganguly, Sanath Jayasuriya, Brian Lara and Rahul Dravid to complete 10,000 runs in the history of limited overs international cricket.

• The right hand top order batsman, who made his international debut against South Africa at Wellington on February 15,1995, took 12 years and 37 days to reach this milestone.

• Sachin Tendulkar was the first player to cross the 5-figure mark in one day internationals. He achieved this feat during his 31-run knock against Australia at Indore on March 31, 2001.

• Ponting has scored 4274 runs at 41.90 in 115 matches played at home and 5809 runs at 44.34 in 157 matches played outside Australia. He also scored 115 in a match he played for a World XI team.
