Security has been stepped up in and around the city in view of threat perception from terrorist outfits, police said on Tuesday.

Police have posted security personnel around the ISKON (Krishna) temple in the city, where Janamashtami celebrations are being held on a large-scale on Tuesday, a police official said.

“The police has also held a series of meeting with mall owners, cell operators, IT-BT industry and public transport service providers in this regard,” he said.

All key installations, airports, railway stations have been kept under surveillance, he said.

Public and those handling security have been asked to keep an eye on any suspicious objects lying unclaimed or suspicious activity, he said.
