Police fired 24 rounds in the air and lobbed 12 teargas shells at the Government Girls High School examination centre in Fatehpura town of Dahod district today to maintain order after around 2,000 parents and relatives of examinees attempted to enter the hall to aid the children in copying.
However, parents pelted stones at them, injuring three policemen and a police horse. A case of rioting has been booked but no arrest have been made so far. Incidents of violence at examination centres have been reported from all over the tribal belt, including Chhotaudepur, Pavi Jetpur and Nasvadi in Vadodara district and Santrampur in the Panchmahals district.
