PNB net at Rs 1,439 cr

The Punjab National Bank (PNB) on Thursday reported a marginal increase of 2.1 per cent in net profit at Rs 1,439 crore during the year ending March 2006, as against Rs 1,410 crore in the previous year.

The Punjab National Bank (PNB) on Thursday reported a marginal increase of 2.1 per cent in net profit at Rs 1,439 crore during the year ending March 2006, as against Rs 1,410 crore in the previous year.

The total income of the bank stood at Rs 10,815 crore, over Rs 10,136 crore posted during the last fiscal registering a growth of 6.7 per cent.

The total business of the bank stood at Rs 1,94,312 crore at the end of March 2006, as compared to Rs 1,63,580 crore at the end of March 2005, an increase of 18.8 per cent.
