PUNE, May 8: An all-round performance by opening batsman Avinash Ohal anchored Pune Muncipal Transport PMT, to a convincing 35-run win over Aga Khan Club in the International Cable Communication ICC Rolling trophy knockout cricket tournament, here today.

The PMT journey started miserably, with their top order failing to click. Barring their opener, Avinash all the other front line batsmen departed in quick succession. However, Kailash Thopte 20 along with the patient Avinash 17 started the repair works for PMT. Their good work was further carried on with some aggressive display by all-rounder Ram Pawar.

Ram punished the Aga Khan bowlers for their complacency to compile a useful 35 runs. PMT, finally recovered to score a good 151 runs in their alloted 20 overs. Asif Master and Akbar Charaniya chipped in two wickets a-piece for Aga Khan.

The Aga Khan reply was almost similar to their opponents with only their opener Amin Khoja 27 playing sensibly. His partners on other hand lost their concentration to push the score and in the processs paid the price.

This along with the some good bowling by Avinash and Satish Jawale put brakes on their scoring rate. Unable to make a comeback the Aga Khan batsmen bowed out without any fightback with the exception of Hassan Mirza who scored 23. Avinash finished with figures of 3/15 with Satish taking 2/17. Kailash, too chipped in with two wickets for 24 runs.

Later, in another encounter, brilliant all-round displays of Sandeep Lele 40, 3/10 and Afroz Khan 29 n.o., 3/14 helped hosts ICC hand a humiliating 107-run defeat to Darshna Club.

Batting first, ICC were given a sound start by Sagar Bhargude 34 and Sujit Kalbhor 28. This was followed by some good batting display which came at the hands of Sandeep and Afroz. The duo took runs at their will against a depleting Darshan bowling attack. The hosts finally compiled a solid 175 for five in the stipulated 20 overs which was way beyond the reach of their opponents who conceded the battle meekly, being able to score just 69 runs.
