Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has wished a speedy recovery for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, who has been hospitalised after complaining of severe neck and back pain.

Singh has also sent a bouquet of flowers with a ‘get well soon’ message to the DMK supremo.

Karunanidhi, 84, was admitted to a Chennai hospital on Friday.

UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi has, meanwhile, enquired about Karunanidhi’s health from his daughter and Rajya Sabha MP, Kanimozhi.

Gandhi spoke to Kanimozhi over phone and told her that the Chief Minister should resume work after taking rest for a few days, a release issued in Chennai said.

The police said that Kumar, a resident of Turbhe MIDC in Navi Mumbai, was driving his concrete mixer truck when it collided with an SUV.
