PM statement: BJP calls it shadow boxing

The BJP has dismissed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh8217;s challenge to the Left to withdraw support to his Government as 8220;mere shadow boxing8221;. 8220;Prime Minister8217;s display of courage is intriguing. He is defending an indefensible deal. If the Left is serious about its opposition to the deal, then they should withdraw support to the Government. But they are so used to power without accountability,8221; BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said. 8220;Left8217;s refusal to confront the Government yet again shows its typical hypocrisy and duplicity,8221; Prasad said.

The BJP spokesperson said the PM did not show his courage when it was required. 8220;When democracy was murdered in Goa, he did not speak out. When the Bihar Assembly was dissolved, and when thousands of farmers perished, he had nothing to say. His show of courage to push through a dubious deal is very disturbing,8221; Prasad said.
