Irked over an excessive display of his photographs in the Vision Document of the BJP, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee has expressed his displeasure to party president M. Venkaiah Naidu and general secretary Pramod Mahajan for having kept him in the dark about it.
The PM gave vent to his feelings when Naidu, Mahajan and other party leaders visited him on Tuesday afternoon to present a copy of the document.
Sources say Vajpayee, soon after browsing through the document, asked Naidu and Mahajan: ‘‘How many photographs have you published?’’ Mahajan replied: ‘‘We had published as many last time too.’’ Thereupon, Vajpayee told Mahajan in Marathi:
‘‘At least you should have told me (about the number of photographs used) before.’’
The sources replied in the negative when asked if the PM had any objections to the contents of the document that was prepared by a team led by Law Minister Arun Jaitley. The 50-page document has a photograph or two of the PM on each page, including the cover.
