The doc simply hands her a packet of viagra tablets and asks her to report back in a week8217;s time. The lady comes back within two days 8212; sad and shattered. Laced with black humour such as this, the talk on Vigour, Vitality and Viagra8217; at a function organised by the Rotary Club of Bombay today, also highlighted some serious effects and side-effects of the drug also known as Pfizer8217;s riser which was introduced in the US only in March this year.

The main speaker for the occasion, Dr Vinit J Shah, an andrologist from Jaslok Hospital with a wry sense of humour, confessed that he expected a 8220;standing ovation8221; at the end of his speech. 8220;I want to clear certain myths attached to the drug. Viagra cannot be bought off the counter as it can trigger fatal reactions in the body if it is taken along with certain other drugs of daily use. One has toconsult a physician before taking it,8221; said Shah who is conducting trials on the drug Sildenafil, Viagra8217;s basic ingredient.

Like most other creations on earth, Viagra too was discovered by accident when pharmaceutical giant Pfizer was testing the drug on heart patients. After a few seconds of suspense, the doctor projected slides of the Eiffel Tower, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and of course, the Taj Mahal.
