PCMS body flays Vigilance officials

PATIALA, Sept 19: The PCMS Association today in a press release strongly condemned the alleged highhandedness of the Vigilance Department Officials, who not only implicated the Senior Medical Officer of Civil Hospital, Rama Mandi, Dr Gurdev Singh Sidhu, in a 8220;baseless8221; case but also reportedly manhandled and humiliated him.

The state president and general secretary of PCMS Association, Punjab, Dr B.S. Sahota and Dr D.C. Sharma, respectively, demanded that the state government should intervene and the case against the doctor, concocted by certain vested interests, should be withdrawn. And said that Rama Mandi traders and shopkeepers observed a bandh and held a dharna to express solidarity with Dr Sidhu, ample proof of the SMO8217;s reputation.

Meanwhile, the PCMS Association has decided to boycott the three-day special family welfare camp being held at Civil Hospital, Bathinda, from September 23 onwards.
