The Andhra Pradesh government today announced that leaders of political parties will take part in the talks with the outlawed Naxal outfit as desired by the latter and bureaucrats would not be involved at any stage.
This was announced after an all-party meeting convened here today by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to evolve a political consensus on the issue. The government also announced that it would release the names of its delegates for the talks and the agenda in a day or two, setting the peace process to resolve the three-decade-long Naxal problem rolling.
This follows the recent PWG announcement naming revolutionary writer Vara Vara and balladeer Gaddar as its emissaries to draw up modalities for the first-ever face-to-face talks. Home Minister T. Devender Goud said: ‘‘The government decided to hold talks with the PWG. All parties supported it and wanted to expedite the process.’’
