AMRITSAR, JAN 19: The Border Security Forces (BSF) shot dead an intruder from Pakistan after a brief exchange of fire near border outpost Tatan Khurd in Amritsar sector last night and recovered 20 kg RDX from him.

A pistol alongwith a few cartridges and a mobile telephone set was also recovered from him, BSF sources said here today.

The sources said the intruder was a Pakistani national and was shot dead between the zero line and the barbed wire fence. The area of the encounter is just a couple of kilometers away from the Wagha road checkpost. Senior BSF officials have gone to the spot of the encounter for further investigations.
