In its pursuit of US-led “war on terror” since 9/11, Pakistan has arrested about 700 terror suspects and handed them over to Washington in complete violation of human rights, says Amnesty International. Quoting Pakistani officials, the report titled ‘Pakistan: Human Rights Ignored in the War on Terror’ released here on Tuesday by the NGO, claimed that 700 terror suspects have been handed over to the USA.
However, the officials denied that legal procedure was not adopted in such cases. “They were sold to US custody, sometimes by local police or border officials,” alleges the report. Amnstry International has demanded punishment to all those responsible.
