For those who complained and complained about their computer monitors, Philips introduces its 15.1 inch Flat Panel Liquid Crystal Display Monitor with the highest performance flat panel monitor technology. And the viewable display area of this monitor is comparable to that of any 17-inch monitor.Product features include multimedia capabilities situated on the front panel. There are two front-firing speakers on the sides and a microphone in the centre. Unlike other non-LCD products, the monitor does not emit any radiation. It is compatible with all standard video cards with its 15-pin D-sub connector and all common VESA modes.
Philips has also introduced arange of colour monitors in sizes including 14, 15, 17, 19 and 21 inches.

Groove, the new record store in the Eros Cinema building at Churchgate, proclaims itself as the Music Destination8217;. From the latest Velvet Underground album and Afro-Cuban music to Ustad Vilayat Khan8217;s early recordings, Meena Kumari8217;s immortal ghazals, and, of course, the best of Hindi film music, Groove has it all. The 6,500 square feet outfit driven by Brian Tellis for the Cambata Group is fitted with a dozen listening posts where shoppers can sample their music before shelling out the cash. Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai, achieved a significant breakthrough in the field of infertility treatment with the successful start of its micro-surgical laser unit 8212; the first ever microsurgical laser unit in India to be used at cellular level among private and public institutes.
This technique of Laser Assisted Hatching is done with the aid of video control prior to putting the embryos back into the womb. Preliminary results from the world over have shown improvement in pregnancy rates with these technologies, especially inelderly women.
This technique can also be used in patients who have had previous multiple failed attempts and women who have had their excess embryos frozen from previous In Vitro Fertilisation IVF cycles with greater success.
Mumbai boasts of over a dozen advanced infertility clinics, most of which are in South Mumbai, Lilavati Hospital is the first suburban unit, which also has an Assisted Conception Unit, which has facilities such as IVF test tube baby and Gamete Fallopian Transfer GIFT. The unit is also in the process of starting the Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis. In this technique, the embryo can be analysed for genetic defects prior to placing it back into the mother8217;s womb. This will be of special importance to women between 35 and 39 years, when there is a higher incidence of genetic defects in babies.
Lilavati has also started donor oocyte and embryo programme, which will enable menopausal women till the age of 50 years to get pregnant. In oocyte donation, the donor egg can befertilised with the recipient husbands8217; sperms and the resultant embryos can be placed back into the recipients womb.
