VADODARA, Nov 8: The Programme of Works, 1998-99 of the Exploration Business Group EBG, ONGC, Western Region was released by Daljit Singh, GGM Exploration recently in the presence of senior officers of EBG. The Programme of Works has been formed exclusively to carry out new exploratory and development efforts to accelerate the targeted quantum of reserves.

While releasing the Programme of Works, Singh emphasised the need to generate prospects along the thrust areas in the existing basins of the Western Regions and to concentrate exploration efforts on new oil fields.

Pipeline leased: ONGC, WRBC has leased a 14-inch diameter oil pipeline to Indian Oil Corporation for a period of 10 years of transportation of their products from Koyali Refinery to Nawagam for further destination to Ahmedabad and North Gujarat. Presently, the 18-inch diameter pipeline is used for pumping crude oil from North Gujarat fields to Koyali Refinery. The lease will generate a revenue of Rs 50 lakhs per year for ONGC.

Honoured: ONGC8217;s Central Workshop, Vadodara has been awarded Special Commendation Certificate8217; from the Union Minister, Government of India, for achieving more than one million accident-free manhours.

Visit: C P Singh, Director General of Police, Gujarat visited the installation and rigs at Limbodara, GGS and Kalol.

Meet held: Electronics and Telecommunications Eamp;T Meet of Logging Experts of all Regions was held recently in Avani Bhavan, Ahmedabad. N Lal, Executive director, ONGC, Western Region, inaugurated the meet.

Selection trial: The selection trials to form the ONGC Western Region badminton team was held on October 27 and 28. While S K Patel, Sanjay Kumar, Shiv Ramakrishna, A K Kathuria and Pradeep Paul have been selected for the preparatory camp to be held in Ahmedabad, in the veterans category, A K Banerjee, Bhadri Prasad of Ahmedabad and Satpal Kundal of Vadodara emerged winners.
