Smoke House Grill plans to resurrect the infamous but iconic theatre-discotheque Studio 54 that once rocked Manhattan. 8220;We started the retro groove last year and since then our Friday retro theme has been a huge hit. Most of our patrons are not travelling this time and we plan a bigger and bolder party, along the same lines,8221; says Vasul Chauhan, manager, The Smoke House Grill. Vinyl records and pop-art insignia will be plastered on the walls and disco balls will add to the theme. Even the staff will be dressed in psychedelic costume and in-house DJs will spin out retro beats. Wines look promising, as does the meal. On offer will be pickled grapefruit, skewered lamb marinated in wasabi and malt vinegar, poached shrimps and beer-braised ham. No cover or entry charges, but reservations are strongly recommended.

Latin Carnival
At Ai, the Japanese restaurant and lounge at Saket, an impressive blend of Japanese delicacies and rhythmic notes from Latin America will take centre stage. At its New Year bash, themed as Sushi Samba, Brazilian fire dancers will add some warmth on a cold winter night.

At chef Nikhil Chib8217;s Asia 7 at Ambience Mall in Gurgaon, expect a lavish spread of Vietnamese, Japanese and Burmese cooking.
