The second Hindi offering from Sony Music is almost as good as the first one was, but it hardly promises to be the hot item the former became. Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi, a film which arouses more curiosity because of it8217;s cast than music, has a decent soundtrack. The most popular number that is making it8217;s presence felt is Musu Musu, with it8217;s plesant tune and partly undecipherable words. What the album reeks of, however, is mush. The first side is full of mostly lovey-dovey, look-in-my-eyes songs.
The second side opens with Woh pehli baar8217;, which is slightly racier than any mellow melody before. The second number, Koi to mujhe bata de8217;, is the one mandatory tapori song that has to be part of any movie these days. The music for this song is given by Salim and Suleman, and it has some major shades of the Remo-of-before. The next one is the title song, which goes heavy on the saxophone, drums and god knows what else somewhere in between.
The compositions and lyrics of each songhave been individually credited. They are rendered by Shaan, Krishna Kumar, Shekhar Ravjiani, Mahalakshmi Iyer and Jeanne Michael 8211; all new, all reasonably good. If you like to experiment, this is a good cassette to buy. There8217;s always the romantic numbers to fall back on if you don8217;t like the rest of it.

Love, love, love is in the air. And this, one week after V-Day. Actually, who needs an excuse for the L-word? Certainly not Polygram, who have come out with Love Songs From The Movies. The first track, predictably, is that of Titanic. Also included are Can you feel the love tonight, Lion King I will always love you, Bodyguard, I say a little prayer My Best Friend8217;s Wedding, Have you ever really loved a woman Don Juan De Marco, Everything I do Robin Hood, When I fall in love Sleepless In Seattle, Take a look at me now Against All Odds and It must have been love Pretty Woman.Very conspicuous by their absence are numbers like Lady InRed and Love Story. Oh well! Everything in one? Over ambitious on our part, perhaps.

Sonu Nigam finds it important that people should constantly be reminded that he not only has a fabulous voice with a wide range, but also that he uses it well. So his latest album, Deewana, serves the same purpose. A collection of eight songs composed by Sajid-Wajid, with lyrics by Faiz Anwar, the album is a plesant compilation. Some of the lyrics, specifically, are exceptional.
To begin with, the album falls in the category the rest of them do _ pure smooshy smush. All the songs are rendered in Nigam8217;s dreamy voice, with slow, sensuous music that leaves you with stardust in your eyes and longing in your soul, among assorted other parts of the anatomy. Lyrics-wise, Is kadar pyar hai tumse is superb, as is Ye pehli mulaqat ki, which also has a waltzy flavour, thus making it slightly different. For those who cannot decide who they love more _romance or Sonu Nigam 8211; this is the perfect buy.
