To Almari, I wish the very best but the auction that they hope to pull off in virtual land I wish even more success as on this charitable note were the doors to the US consulate lawns magically thrown open. To Jackie Shroff, my dapper, debonair pal of years, must go the social accolade of the evening for managing to approach 8230; through his common man with the waiters a glass of wine for Nari Hira and I, when all around seemed to be losing it and blaming it on someone else.
Ramona Garware, Aarti Surendranath and Sanjeev Chowdhury all confided that the smoke machine ensured that they couldn8217;t see the stage, but they walked the fashion talk with aplomb and grace, and I raise a salute to them.
Ensconced on the laws with dapper Viresh Chabra, the charming Ashish Soni, Arjun, Shefali and Viren Shah I couldn8217;t help but reflect that if the evening had been fine tuned a little it could have been exemplary.
Anyway, it was only a launch party and in the world of dot com I am sure fantasy and reality will merge to bring about some virtual figures that not just account for the hits but raise a healthy figure too for the Cancer Patients Aid Association. Lets hope all our tomorrows never sorrow us with the pain of this dreaded disease. Say a prayer for the sufferers today if you can.
