CHANDIGARH, July 9: The employees of the Punjab Police Housing Corporation held a rally at its head office in support of their long pending demands here today.

They were demanding payment of HRA (25 per cent) from January 1, 1996 in cash, new pay-scales for workcharged employees and their regularisation, besides opening up promotional avenues. Their other demands include provision of uniforms, chowkidar, cycle and other allowances to class IV employees.

Addressing the rally, president and general secretary of the Punjab Police Housing Corporation Employees Association Pawan Kumar Sharma and Dinesh Kumar respectively requested the management of the corporation to repatriate all employees on deputation and to fill up all vacant posts by promoting employees from the department itself. They also demanded the removal of retired employees who occupy prestigious posts in the corporation.

Later, a delegation met managing director of the corporation, G. S. Bhullar and submitted a charter of their demands to him.
