
MUMBAI, September 28: Western Railway athletes Sanjeev Nair and Shelji Joseph dominated the Orlem Road Races which concluded at St Anne’s, Malad this morning.
While Nair clocked 39 minutes 41:9 secs to win the men’s open 12 kilometre event, Shelji took 18 minutes and 32:5 secs to clinch the women’s event covering a distance of 5 kms.

Boricha maintains lead
Ketan Boricha continued to lead the pack with one more victory, after the seventh round of the Sixth Pre-Rating Selection Chess Tournament, organised by the Bombay Chess Association at the Zandu Pharmaceutical Works Canteen, today.
Boricha triumphed over 5th seed Ashish Thatte of Mulund Commerce College in a queens Gambit game, playing black. The game lasted for 36 moves.
In the other important match, 2nd seeded Prakash Date of Bank of India, also playing black, outwitted Shivaji Patil’s e2-e4 opening with his Sicilian Defence. Date won in 44 moves to set up a clash with the top-seeded Boricha next.
