Taking potshots at the BJP over the revolt by Maharashtra leader Gopinath Munde, the Congress on Tuesday said it reflected the “exclusivist syndrome” of the saffron party.
“Primarily, it is an internal matter of the party. But I cannot help saying it reflects the exlusivist syndrome of the BJP,” AICC spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi told reporters in New Delhi.
He said the concerns raised by Munde reflect “the real face, the real philosophy of the BJP, which certainly cannot be called inclusive.” “It certainly cannot be called pro-Dalit or pro-backward,” Singhvi added.
He referred to RSS chief K S Sudershan’s call for a revamp of the Constitution and the BJP’s “indirect, muted, de facto opposition” to the OBC quota.
“There is a consistency about BJP’s approach and philosophy, of shedding crocodile tears for backwards and dalits and really opposing tooth and nail every welfare measure,” Singhvi said.
“The exclusivist syndrome is obviously giving rise to concerns across the spectrum of the BJP,” he remarked.
