Honesty pays back: A passenger on the Western Railway was pleasantly surprised when he was returned change of Rs 400 which he had forgotten to collect from a booking clerk. M K Joshi, a Nepean Sea road resident, bought two tickets for Andheri from Grant Road station booking clerk Rajesh Rele, giving him Rs 500. As his ticket cost Rs 16, he was returned Rs 84. But before Rele could return Rs 400, Joshi left the window in a rush. Joshi realised his loss only after reaching Andheri. 8220;On my way back I felt I had no chance of getting my money back, since nobody would believe me,8221; he wrote in a letter to the railways. He approached Rele, who recognised him and called him inside the cabin. After checking his credentials, Rele handed him Rs 400.

2 die in fire at jewellery shop: Two persons, owners of an imitation jewellery shop, were killed in a fire at the Kakakua building in Bhoiwada on Wednesday evening.

The cause of the blaze was not yet known, fire brigade sources said. The shop wassituated on the second floor of the five-storeyed building. The blaze, which broke at around 6 pm, destroyed the furniture and imitation jewellery as well. As the inner latch of the front door got locked, the owners could not escape, the fire brigade claimed.
