Brigadier Shashi Kumar Mehta took over as Deputy Director General NCC, Directorate Maharashtra on Monday
Commissioned in the elite 4 Gorkha Regiment in 1966, Brigadier Mehta has held various important regimental, command and staff appointments in his 33-year career. Prior to his present posting, Brigadier Mehta was Dy General Officer Commanding 9 Infantry Division.
Run for unity
INS Hamla naval training establishment organised a run for unity on Sadbhavna Diwas8217; on Monday. The 10-kilometre run from Hamla to Madh fort was flagged off by Commodore F H Dubash, Commanding Officer, INS Hamla.
Over 2000 individuals, including an 84-year old, participated in the event involving families from Hamla, Air Force station, Madh, HBTC Marve, COD Kandivali/ Malad, and children from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Madh and Sea Cadet Corps.
