NEW DELHI, MARCH 5: The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing C-DAC on Friday announced the launch of the ILEAP-ISP scheme, the multilingual Indian language software for Internet subscribers.

Under the ILEAP-ISP scheme, a multilingual word processor with Internet and E-mail support in Indian languages will be made available absolutely free to all Internet subscribers through their respective Internet Service Providers ISPs. This is being done to popularise and spread the Indian language usage in computers all over the country.

The ILEAP-ISP scheme comes along with the ILEAP Ver 2.0 8212; an intelligent, Internet ready, Indian language word processor to ISPs free of cost 8212; and is to be transferred to their Internet Service Subscribers.

If any subscriber wishes to be a registered user of this software he or she has to obtain a Registered User ID code that can be obtained by paying a license fee of Rs 500. If any subscriber wants to go through the authentication he or she has just to E-mail atgistcdac.ernet.in, and in return will be sent an ID code which will be the Registered User ID.

The scheme is being launched after discussions with various ISPs.

Some of the ISPs, however, are not in a position to invest in multilingual software separately because of the uncertain future of the Internet industry.

The software will be displayed and demonstrated during the ISP INDIA 8217;99 exhibition which will be held from March 8 to 10 at Hotel Le Meridien, Bangalore.
