FEBRUARY 19: Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak made a surprise visit to Lebanon on Saturday, the first ever by an Egyptian head of state, amid strong Egyptian support for Lebanon following a February 8 Israeli air blitz. Mubarak was met at Beirut International Airport by Lebanese President Emile Lahoud and Prime Minister Salim Hoss who went straight into talks with him in the presidential palace north of Beirut, officials said.
